The idea for Cyberdeck Artisan came about in 2019 shortly after I got my first mechanical keyboard. I discovered a subset of the hobby all about designing and making keyboards from scratch. Working as a programmer for many years I missed making physical things. This was the perfect opportunity to use some of my work experience to break out and teach myself something new. I learned about 3D modeling, CAD, 3D printing, soldering, electronics, mold making, resin casting and injection molding. This new set of skills has unlocked the ability to create almost anything that I feel inspired to, including the keyboards that were used to type out everything on this website (pictured above).
